I made this in memory of the black swan family (two adults & three cygnets) who live by the river near our place, I used to walk to see how they fared over the years. They'd survived a particularly bad storm and flood a few years back only to be killed by a dog off leash early this year. The one surviving cygnet now resides in the Melbourne Zoo.
